About Lukas

Lukas begin his racing career at the age of 12 in the grassroots world of karting. Over the next 5 years, he progressed from winning locally in his home state of Minnesota, to winning at the highest level of karting in the US by the time he was 17, eventually achieving the rank of the #1 ranked shifter kart driver in the nation by eKarting News.

At 15, Lukas completed a 3 day school at the famed Skip Barber Racing School at Sebring

International Raceway, serving as his first exposure to racing cars. After catching the attention

of Canadian-based Formula BMW team Eurointernational, he completed a test day at Putnam

Park Raceway in Indiana, demonstrating his ability to quickly adapt to any platform.

However, Lukas’ true passion was to pursue endurance sportscar racing. In 2015 he entered the International Trophy Cup series - a single-make series based on the Porsche Cayman platform. In his debut season, he put on a dominating performance, securing 11 of 13 overall race victories and winning the series championship.

His early success earned him opportunities to compete in the IMSA Continental Sports Car Challenge on a part time basis with Bodymotion racing. Lukas was able to demonstrate competitive race pace in across both ST and GS class on limited track time in both the Porsche 911 and Cayman platforms.

In 2017, aiming to get back to the competitive spec-series racing format, Lukas formed a relationship with DAC Motorsport, a former participant in Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Through good faith opportunities, Lukas was able to test the car at Circuit of the Americas and Road America. During the latter, demonstrating top 5 qualifying pace after just 5 laps.

Around this time, Lukas completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from the Opus College of Business at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Since that time, Lukas has focused on developing his business career, becoming a trusted advisor in the supply chain automation industry to over 400 enterprise-level businesses spanning the globe.

Lukas' passion and determination to return to racing has driven him to co-found JM Competition with close friend and fellow University of St. Thomas alum Ben Myers.

About Ben

For Ben, racing has been a family affair. For the past several years, his family has participated regularly in HSR and SVRA events among others. More recently, his uncle has competed in SRO GT3 America, and even his mother and brother have all taken up the sport. For the majority of Ben’s life, his primary focus was hockey -- achieving the title of All American at his goaltender position during his collegiate hockey career, and even continuing to play professionally post-graduation for the Birmingham Bulls.

However, Ben caught the racing bug having spent numerous weekends trackside while his family members were out turning laps. In 2011, Ben got his first taste of racing at a 3 day Skip Barber School at Road America. Soon enough, Ben started getting behind the wheel in a number of Champ Car endurance races with his uncle, quickly applying his hand eye skills and competitive nature from hockey to the racetrack. In 2018, Ben took part in a 2-day Skip Barber school at Lime Rock Park. Taking things to the next level, Ben took the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo for the first time in Las Vegas - cementing his aspirations to one day compete in professional sports car racing.

2021 was Ben’s first full-time year of competition in the ultra-competitive S2000 spec class, where he posted an impressive 2nd overall in his group for the season, 3rd in the adjoining endurance championship, and collecting the title of Most Improved Driver of the Year as voted by his peers -- proving his natural ability behind the wheel. Ben continued this trajectory in 2022, taking 1st overall in class for the season along with 2nd overall in the endurance championship.

Currently, Ben manages a portfolio of Commercial Real Estate Clients in the Southwestern Florida region, is a partner at Balanced Images, and spends much of his free time networking with like-minded individuals in the automotive and real estate industries to facilitate meaningful connections nationwide.
